Hi, and welcome to our home. My name is Valerie Wilson, and I reside in
Western Michigan along with my husband David and evergrowing bird
family. Having raised my human children, I now devote my time to my bird
children.
Anyone who is presently owned by a bird knows that life with birds is
like having a toddler that never grows up. You have to watch over them
all the time. You are the caregiver, protector, and teacher. Your birds
rely on you to provide them with a balanced diet, safe and secure
environment, physical stimulation, and LOTS of love. Birds like toddlers
can have periods of defiance, screaming for attention, and occasionally
biting, but as the bird parent you must try to determine why your baby
is acting out.
Life with birds is very challenging and rewarding at the same time. You
are challenged each day to provide the best possible care, and rewarded
by the unconditional love your bird gives you in return.
Babies raised in our home are handfed and each is given their special
time. I try very hard to raise our babies to be just like the baby that
I myself would want if I were looking for a new family addition.
